In April 2011, Gov. Perry issued a Proclamation for Days of Prayer for Rain in Texas to combat the Texas drought. Then in August 2011, Perry led a Bible reading for 30,000 to 40,000 people at Reliant Stadium in Houston where he called on attendees to fast & pray for rain. Cynicism not aside, we now arrive at Sept 2012 when Perry is finally receiving recognition & acknowledgement for having "replenished our lakes and streams" with his heartfelt prayer in the face of mockery by the press (and folks like me).
